First of all wish you all a very Happy New Year . Hope you all enjoyed a lot on new year’s eve. Mine was pretty usual one. I just spent new year’s eve watching a movie and eating fries  and diet coke with my Mom.

Well its my first post of 2016 so I wanted to share a hair care product that I absolutely cherish. Its Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Care Cream (Extra Nourishment). Himalaya is a really trusted brand when it comes to skin and hair care products because they are mostly natural. And that is why I love Himalaya Herbals Products.

Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Care Cream (Extra Nourishment)’s Appearance

Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Care Cream (Extra Nourishment) comes in sturdy plastic tub with green cap. It is further covered with silver foil. The cap is a good fit and you don’t need to worry about it leaking.

As you can see in the pictures above, the cream is pure white in color and it is neither to thick nor too runny in consistency which makes it real easy to apply on your hair and scalp. The smell is nice and pleasant and not strong. You will love it trust me on that.

Its Pricing and Shelf Life

It is priced Rs. 30 for 50 ml; Rs.100 for 175 ml and it has shelf life of 3 years.

Ingredients

Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Care Cream (Extra Nourishment) contains

• ChickPea
• Wheatgerm
• Amla
• Amalaki
• Chanaka
• Ghodhuma
• Bhringaraja

It has some inactive ingredients too namely Methylparaben and Propylparaben.

How to use it?

Use it daily before and after hair wash. Massage on scalp and hair, leaving it for an hour before shampooing. Apply to damp hair after every wash. (as written on the pack)

As you know at HCS we do things a bit differently. As in my previous article on hair porosity I shared that heat helps in opening cuticles which helps in better penetration for the moisture into the hair shaft. That is why I took a small towel and dipped in into hot water and removed the excess water and kept the towel on my head and allowed the steam to pass through my hair and scalp.

Now after giving steam for 5 mins, part your hair in four equal sections and apply the cream evenly on your hair and scalp and leave it for about 1 hour. Now before washing the cream I again gave a little steam to my hair like I mentioned above (again for better penetration).

Now shampoo and condition your hair as usual. And you are done.

Note : Steaming is an additional step for better results and is entirely optional. If you are low on time you can definitely skip it.

Its effects on my Hair

It made my hair more smooth and manageable than before and surprisingly my hair didn’t tangle at all for next two days. Although it did left a little bit of a greasy feeling on my hair.

Cons of Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Care Cream (Extra Nourishment)

• The product claims it can be used after wash but it makes hair greasy . So only suitable for pre-wash.
• The tub packing is a bit unhygenic as you have to dip your fingers each time you use it.
• It contains parabens. Well most of the hair care products and cosmetics do.
